“So many of us are working our hearts out to make ends meet, but still struggling to get ahead. Meanwhile the political establishment in Washington rigs the game for the rich and the powerful. We have the opportunity right now and the political will right here to play a different game. We can build an America that puts families first. We can rewrite the rules so our economy works for all of us, no matter our zip code or our income.” - Jess King
Justice Democrats is proud of supporting candidates with a positive vision for our future. As establishment strategies continue to fail the people, Jess King fights for a platform to uplift the lives of the extraordinary people she would represent by replacing the incumbent:
- Debt-free college tuition: because quality education is a right
- Medicare for All: because healthcare is a human right
- Opposing the Atlantic Sunrise pipeline: because there should be no eminent domain for corporate gain
- Raising the minimum wage: because no one working 40 hours a week should struggle to make a living
Jess King is a working mom, small business champion, and a leader in local economic development. She never planned on running for office but after a career fighting for working families in Pennsylvania, she joined the race for the 16th District because too many of us are working hard for too little while a greedy few rig the game in Washington. Her leadership has been recognized with “Jessica King Day in the City of Pittsburgh,” Pittsburgh’s 40 under 40, Lancaster’s Ethics in Business Award, the Red Rose Award, and the Friend of Workforce Award and Baldwin Fellowship. She is a current Local Economy Fellow with the national Business Alliance for Local Living Economies. She served as a Commissioner on Lancaster Mayor Rick Gray’s Commission to Combat Poverty, and spearheads the Coalition to Combat Poverty’s Private Sector Working Group.
